We're sure you've all heard that everything is bigger in Texas. This may be true, but when it comes to bluesSHOUT!, we'd like to think that everything is *better* in Texas!

You can always count on bluesSHOUT! to bring you the best of everything - awesome live and DJed blues, top quality instruction, inspiring competitions and performances, and social dancing that leaves you weak in the knees. This year, we've got a couple of special surprises in store for you! Everything you need to know will be posted here and on our website, stay tuned!

Think you can put on the best show in town? Want to throw it down on the bluesSHOUT! 2010 stage? Now is the time to submit an entry to perform at bluesSHOUT! Austin!

Your performance can be any of the following categories:

Girl and/or Guy Troupes
Couples
Partnered Troupes
Solo Blues
Your piece should be 3 minutes or less. Please submit a video clip of no less than a minute of your routine with flv, avi, mpg, or wmv formatting. If it is a team piece we need enough members performing in the clip to get an idea of what your routine will look like as a final product.

Deadline for all submissions is February 15!!!

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR EARLY BIRD...
TODAY is the last day you can register for bluesSHOUT! Austin! at the Early Bird price. At midnight the price jumps from $115 to $145 for a full weekend pass. That pass gets you into all the classes, dances and competitions throughout the weekend.

BUT IT'S THE FIRST DAY FOR DANCE ONLY PASSES...
The Dance Only pass will be available starting today at $75! That pass will get you into all evening and late night dances during bluesSHOUT! You can also enter any of the bluesSHOUT! contests for FREE with this pass.

AND DON'T FORGET HOUSING AND YOUR T-SHIRT!
Housing for bluesSHOUT! Austin! will close on Wednesday, March 31st. Priority for housing assignments will go to folks who have registered AND paid for a Full Weekend or Dance Only pass. Don't get left out in the cold (or really, a hotel). Pre-orders for t-shirts will also close on March 31st.

Last call for alcohol... ahem. Let's try that again.

Last call for bluesSHOUT! Full Event passes at $145!
Last call for Dance Only passes at $75!

Last call for local housing!

Online registration will close on Friday, March 31. After that, registration will be at the door only: $165 for the Full Event pass, and dances can be bought a la carte, for a total of $95.

Housing sign-up is available as part of the registration process. Housing priority goes to folks who have paid, and we are already limited, so you're not going to want to wait until the last minute.

You've got about two weeks to get those registrations in. With the airlines all putting out special deals, now is the time!

At long last, class descriptions are up on the website! We appreciate your patience - true greatness takes time!

Because of the high numbers of out-of-town registrants, our housing availability is met at this time. That said, we are still looking for a few more to host and are keeping a waitlist. If you were thinking of reserving a hotel room for the weekend, now is the time to do it! Splitting a room and the cost of a rental car can end up being quite the deal, and you only have to share the shower with three other people!

*Don't forget, online registration ends in just over a week, on Wednesday March 31st!*

They specialize in connection, body movement, musicality, rhythmic ideas, and blending different dance styles. Due to some last minute follow frenzy late last night, we are a bit more uneven than we'd like to be. This is good news for you, leads! Leads can continue to register for the full weekend pass online at the $145 price until midnight on Sunday!

Follows, we will start a wait list, and depending on how many leads sign up, we may be able to allow a few more of you to register as well.

Hotel Discount
Thanks to the awesome Dee Kalick of Austin, we have a sweet deal to offer Blues Shout registrants who are interested in booking a hotel room during the event. A local Econo Lodge - just a couple of miles from the late night location at Go Dance - is offering rooms for Blues Shout registrants for just $50 a night! The only catch is you MUST book your room by April 8th.

Performances
Every year, bluesSHOUT! showcases talented Blues choreographers and performers from around the country...

This year, all of our performances will happen at the end of the main dance on Saturday. This way, you can have seat and enjoy the show without missing out on any dancing time.

Our awesome venue, The Fed, has small dance rooms that are perfect for private lessons.
